A popular perennial because it is easy to establish in well-drained soils. Fragrant leaves, drought tolerant, grows in a low mound. To continue bloom throughout the summer, shear the plant after blooming. Nepeta racemosa will self-seed, the cultivar, 'Walker's low' produces sterile seeds. Enjoyed by butterflies and is deer resistant.
