This plant is known for it's showy stamens. It is very easy to grow and adaptable to most soils, which means it can become invasive given the right conditions. It can spread through underground stems and by self-seeding. St. John's Wort has been used for centuries as an herbal treatment for many different illnesses and wound treatment.
